of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC), located in Houston, Texas,
is one of the world's most respected cancer centers and is often ranked
as the best cancer hospital in the USA. The faculty numbers ~947 M.D.’s
and Ph.D.s with a total staff of more than 12,000. In its 469-bed hospital
it treats ~60,000 cancer patients per year of whom approximately 11,000
participate in clinical trials of new therapies, the largest such program
in the U.S. The institution currently spends more than $250 million per
year in research and ranks first in the number of cancer-related grants
